The Amen Community Group hold their meetings in Djidjole, a peri-urban neighbourhood in the north of Lomé. The group was created in May 2019 by Abra Adawope, a local resident who had already benefited from services provided by our Field Partner, IADES. After learning about community groups from an IADES Loan Officer, Abra decided to create the Amen group so that other women in her neighbourhood could also benefit from access to Deki loans, financial services and training provided.
The group consists of 20 women, aged between 24 and 60 years old. With their loans and support from IADES, women of the Amen group aim to create and expand their own income-generating activities, starting their journeys towards financial health and independence.
