Nutifafa Community Group- Sponsorship Goal: £1,326

The Nutifafa group is a collection of 14 entrepreneurs based in Attiégou, which is a suburb in the East of Lomé, Togo’s capital city. The group was established in May 2019 by a group of neighbours.

The people in the group all feel that they belong to one community and see their partnership with IADES and Deki as an opportunity for “social fulfilment and financial empowerment” by expanding their individual businesses. The members of Nutifafa have a variety of different business ventures, including selling second-hand clothes and a diverse range of food products as well as local specialities such as sodabi, a palm wine with cultural importance across West Africa.

The members of the group are all aiming to invest in their businesses with the goals of diversification and expansion being common themes amongst the entrepreneurs. All of them are applying for their very first loan from Deki. Alongside the loans, the entrepreneurs will receive business and financial  training and community development workshops which will include subjects like maintaining balance books and good health practices. We are excited to be able to help empower this community to thrive.
